About the Role
You will design mechanical aerospace and propulsion hardware, create CAD models and engineering documentation, perform structural and thermal analyses, support qualification and environmental testing, resolve production issues, participate in design reviews, and apply configuration control, risk management, and design-for-manufacturability practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 4 years of relevant experience, master's degree with 2 years, or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- 4–10 years of professional mechanical engineering or related experience
- Experience designing and developing mechanical hardware or tooling
- 3D CAD modeling, engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering documentation experience
- Knowledge of structural mechanics, materials, thermal effects, loads, interfaces, and design for manufacturability
- Experience supporting hardware development, integration, testing, manufacturing, or production troubleshooting
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance if required
- U.S. person status or eligibility to obtain required export authorization
Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, structures, tooling, and propulsion hardware
- Create 3D CAD models, drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and technical documentation
- Perform mechanical engineering analyses
- Support hardware integration, qualification, acceptance, and environmental testing
- Review test data and support root-cause investigations and corrective actions
- Participate in design reviews and technical working groups
- Resolve manufacturing and production technical issues
- Evaluate nonconformances and provide engineering dispositions
- Apply GD&T, configuration control, risk management, and design-for-manufacturability practices
