About the Role
You will advise on employment and labor matters including hiring, terminations, classifications, leaves, accommodations, investigations, and policy. You will partner with HR and People Operations, counsel on employee equity and compensation, build scalable policies, support international expansion, manage disputes, and oversee labor compliance.
Requirements
- 9+ years of in-house employment and labor law experience
- JD and membership in at least one US state bar
- Startup experience, ideally in a hypergrowth environment
- Experience partnering with HR and People Operations
- Knowledge of employee equity and compensation
- Experience with international expansion and global employment laws
- Experience using AI tools to streamline workflows
Responsibilities
- Advise on employment and labor matters
- Partner with HR and People Operations as a legal advisor
- Counsel on employee equity and compensation
- Build scalable employment policies, templates, and processes
- Support international expansion and global labor-law compliance
- Manage employment disputes and coordinate outside counsel
- Maintain compliance with obligations related to headcount growth
