About the Role
You will lead software and data engineering, set the platform roadmap, define architecture and data flows, and guide delivery of scientist-facing applications. You will manage engineers, establish data standards, and partner across scientific and technical functions to deliver reliable systems for experimental workflows and machine learning.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- 3+ years managing or leading engineers
- Production-quality data-intensive software platform experience
- Python expertise
- Backend systems expertise
- Database expertise
- API expertise
- Cloud infrastructure expertise
- Data architecture, schema, and domain-model experience
- Ongoing United States work authorization without employer sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow the software engineering team
- Own the software and data engineering roadmap
- Define software and data architecture and data flows
- Guide delivery of scientist-facing applications and data systems
- Establish data models and standards for provenance, lineage, versioning, interoperability, and access control
- Partner with science, automation, bioinformatics, data science, and machine learning functions
