About the Role

You will own the engineering basis for natural-gas transmission pipelines from interconnect to plant fence. You will lead hydraulic and controls design, process safety, regulatory compliance, consultant and contractor oversight, commissioning support, technical standards, and the growth of the pipeline engineering function.

  • Experience leading or acting as owner's engineer for transmission systems

Responsibilities

  • Own gas transmission pipeline design basis, hydraulic design, pressure regime, line pack, routing, sizing, and expansion planning
  • Perform and direct steady-state and transient hydraulic modeling
  • Link pipeline design to engine demand, availability, nominations, and consumption balance
  • Evaluate gas storage, interconnect diversity, and cross-connection resilience options
  • Own overpressure protection and control philosophies
  • Lead HAZOPs, design reviews, action closure, and management of change
  • Engineer interfaces between pipelines and plant fuel-gas systems
  • Ensure compliance with 49 CFR Part 192 and applicable ASME B31 codes
  • Establish construction specifications, MAOP documentation, and records discipline
  • Plan integrity management, inspection provisions, and valve philosophy
  • Support commissioning, first gas, and readiness reviews
  • Direct engineering consultants and construction contractors
  • Manage technical interfaces with upstream operators and interconnect counterparties
  • Own third-party engineering scope, schedules, and budgets
  • Develop engineering standards and reference designs
  • Build and lead the internal pipeline engineering function
