About the Role

You will define the architecture and deliver a production control system for flexible compute. You will orchestrate curtailment, power management, fleet telemetry, and grid-event ride-through; integrate cloud and energy systems; and hire and lead the engineering organization.

Requirements

At least 12 years of software engineering experience
At least 5 years leading engineering teams
Experience taking systems from initial development to production scale
Experience with distributed control planes, orchestration, or fleet automation
Experience with safety-critical or physically actuating systems
Working knowledge of data-center power systems and GPU power management
Experience with energy markets or grid programs, or demonstrated ability to gain fluency
Build-versus-buy judgment
Experience hiring senior engineers and operating highly reliable systems

Responsibilities

Own curtailment orchestration and decision-making for grid signals, staged shedding, and power capping
Deliver a utility-validated pilot with telemetry and a test harness
Deliver dynamic power management for oversubscription
Build workload-aware GPU power estimation using fleet telemetry
Design authenticated signal ingress, bounded blast radius, fail-safe defaults, and manual backstops
Own ride-through for power-loss and grid-stress events
Partner on interconnection commitments, curtailment programs, and battery and generation integration
Integrate power controls with Kubernetes and Slurm fleets
Evaluate vendor power-management and grid-integration systems
Hire and lead the engineering team
