You will lead mechanical, electrical, controls, gripper, safety, reliability, documentation, cost, and roadmap work. You will also hire and lead hardware and mechatronics engineers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in hardware, mechatronics, or electromechanical product engineering
  • Several years leading engineering teams
  • Experience taking complex electromechanical products from prototype through design freeze into series production
  • Experience building a hardware engineering or industrialization function in a scaleup or growth-stage company
  • Hands-on mechanical, electrical, and controls integration expertise
  • Experience with DfX, reliability engineering, PLM, configuration management, and change control
  • Experience transferring released designs to contract manufacturers or EMS partners
  • Fluent English
  • Willingness to travel to suppliers and customer sites

Responsibilities

  • Own robotic-cell system design across mechanical, electrical, controls, vision, sensor, wiring, and safety integration
  • Lead development of adaptive force-controlled grippers and end-effectors
  • Take products from prototype through DVT and qualification to released designs
  • Build design for manufacture, assembly, service, and cost into products
  • Run the Design-Transfer Gate with Supply Chain
  • Install reliability engineering practices including DVT, HALT, FMEA, and tolerance analysis
  • Drive root-cause analysis of field failures
  • Establish PLM, BOM, drawing, specification, configuration-management, and change-control practices
  • Own the hardware roadmap and design-to-cost programs
