About the Role
You will lead and develop technicians supporting robot provisioning, builds, testing, quality control, refurbishment, and parts shipping. You will manage staffing and priorities, coordinate hardware validation with engineering, oversee depot operations, and support investigation of recurring field failures.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on electromechanical or robotics hardware experience
- 2+ years of directly leading technicians, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
- Electrical troubleshooting experience with low-voltage DC systems, batteries, chargers, and wiring harnesses
- Ability to use a multimeter and read schematics
- Experience running a test, quality control, or build process with written procedures and recorded results
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to balance competing priorities
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and manage the technician team
- Define written expectations, measures, and performance feedback
- Cross-train team members and ensure written handoffs
- Track workloads and identify capacity gaps
- Forecast headcount and hire and onboard staff
- Plan coverage for time off, on-call rotations, and build surges
- Own request intake and maintain a prioritized backlog
- Publish weekly status updates and participate in field service stand-ups
- Plan and run hardware testing and validation with engineering
- Schedule test robots and record and share test results
- Pilot retrofits and support root-cause analysis
- Oversee provisioning, builds, refurbishment, returns, and quality control
- Ensure same-day parts shipping and maintain work instructions and repair procedures
