About the Role
You will develop and execute global intellectual property strategy for AI infrastructure. You will build and manage patent and proprietary-asset portfolios, work with inventors on high-value inventions, direct patent prosecution counsel, assess IP risks, and advise on licensing, commercial agreements, collaborations, and strategic transactions.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active membership in a US state bar
- Registration to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office
- 10+ years of patent drafting and prosecution experience
- Technical undergraduate degree or equivalent technical experience
- Ability to understand AI infrastructure, hardware, networking, cloud, and software systems
- Experience managing outside patent counsel and global patent portfolios
- Written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute enterprise intellectual property strategy
- Advise leadership on IP strategy, risks, licensing, standards, and AI legal developments
- Build and maintain patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and domain name portfolios
- Drive invention harvesting and patent portfolio development
- Identify patentable innovations with technical and product leaders
- Manage US and international patent preparation and prosecution
- Direct outside patent counsel and set claim strategy
- Advise on IP issues in commercial, corporate, and product transactions
