About the Role
You will define data center engineering standards for high-density AI and GPU environments. You will create reference architectures, technical specifications, review processes, quality gates, commissioning criteria, and operational handoff frameworks. You will lead architecture reviews, establish governance, advise senior leaders, and mentor engineers and technical leaders.
Requirements
- Experience as a staff, principal, or director-level engineering leader in data center, infrastructure, facilities, cloud, or hardware infrastructure
- Experience scaling standards, processes, tools, or governance across a complex engineering organization
- Deep familiarity with data center power, cooling, rack layouts, network infrastructure, cabling, commissioning, operational readiness, and lifecycle management
- Ability to create written standards, technical narratives, architecture diagrams, design reviews, and executive recommendations
- Experience influencing engineering, operations, construction, supply chain, finance, and executive stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Define and own data center engineering standards
- Create reference architectures, design patterns, technical specifications, and deployment standards
- Develop standards libraries, design-review processes, quality gates, commissioning criteria, and handoff frameworks
- Translate deployment lessons into reusable mechanisms
- Establish standards for power, cooling, rack integration, cabling, telemetry, DCIM/BMS, security, and operational readiness
- Lead cross-functional architecture reviews for designs, expansions, retrofits, and infrastructure programs
- Build governance for standards adoption, exceptions, risk reviews, lifecycle ownership, and metrics
- Advise senior leaders on data center strategy, tradeoffs, resiliency, risk, and scalability
- Mentor engineers and technical leaders
