About the Role
You will lead the life insurance company IFRS implementation project across the PayPay Group. You will develop accounting policies, including discussions with audit firms and accounting companies, report progress to executives, drive IT system implementation, design and establish US-SOX internal controls, and manage tasks, schedules, and coordination with parent companies, subsidiaries, and external vendors.
Requirements
- At least approximately five years of accounting experience at a life insurance company, or approximately five years of experience serving life insurance companies at an audit or consulting firm, or experience as a project manager or project management office member on a large-scale project involving multiple departments and external vendors
- Knowledge and practical experience in insurance accounting under IFRS and Japanese accounting standards
- Understanding of the financial closing process at a life insurance company
- Preferred Japanese or US certified public accountant qualification
- Preferred Japanese or US actuary qualification
- Experience with IFRS implementation, ESR implementation, or large-scale system replacement projects at a financial institution, especially a life insurance company
- Experience building accounting structures during post-merger integration
Responsibilities
- Develop accounting policies based on IFRS, particularly IFRS 17
- Report accounting policies and project progress to CXO-level executives
- Drive IT system modifications and implementation associated with IFRS adoption
- Design and establish US-SOX internal controls for the new accounting structure
- Manage project tasks and schedules
- Coordinate with parent companies, subsidiaries, and external vendors
