About the Role

You will join the Manufacturing Operations team and work closely with Manufacturing, Test, Quality and Supply Chain colleagues to support both new product introduction and volume manufacturing. You'll collaborate with internal stakeholders, component suppliers and external contract manufacturers, managing the specification, selection and sourcing of components needed to manufacture products to the right performance, reliability, quality and yield standards. You'll help maintain approved component lists and BoM revisions, ensure compliance with industry standards, survey the market for new component technologies, and manage component obsolescence and supply risk. Occasional global travel to supplier sites may be required.

Requirements

  • In depth working knowledge of BOM management and sourcing systems such as Arena and Silicon Expert
  • Excellent electronics knowledge and familiarity with component parameters and datasheets
  • Good understanding of PCB manufacturing and SMT assembly processes
  • Ability to understand the interaction and dependencies between silicon, package and PCB design
  • Experienced in working with leading edge suppliers in electronics supply chain, preferably with offshore contract manufacturers
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in using data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI)
  • BEng/HND Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

  • Support the selection, evaluation, and qualification of electronic and electro-mechanical components to meet design and manufacturing requirements
  • Create and maintain approved component lists and Bills of Material (BoM) revisions using Arena BoM management or other tools
  • Ensure components and products meet industry compliance requirements for quality, emissions, safety and the environment
  • Survey the market to identify or develop enabling component technologies for next generation products
  • Assess component supply risks, manage component obsolescence, and propose alternative sourcing solutions
  • Travel occasionally to supplier sites globally
