About the Role
You will ensure operations comply with MAS regulations, internal policies, and international standards. You will manage regulatory engagements and filings, provide legal and regulatory advice, investigate suspicious transactions, support STR filings, optimize transaction monitoring, prepare audit responses, deliver compliance training, and report risks to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field
- Legal background or experience in a regulatory body is highly desirable
- 7+ years of compliance experience
- At least 3 years of experience in Singapore in AML, regulatory compliance, or legal advisory roles within fintech, payments, or financial institutions
- Strong knowledge of Singapore’s AML regulations and the Payment Services Act
- Experience with licensing obligations and regulatory reporting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and engage effectively with regulators and external partners
- Experience working in global organizations or supporting cross-border compliance functions is preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures in accordance with MAS regulations, the Payment Services Act, and other regulatory frameworks
- Serve as a primary regulatory contact for MAS and other Singapore authorities
- Manage regulatory engagements, filings, and responses to regulatory inquiries
- Provide legal and regulatory advice on licensing, product reviews, onboarding and offboarding decisions, and cross-border activities
- Lead investigations and reporting of suspicious transaction activity
- Support STR filings and AML/CTF compliance
- Advise on transaction monitoring rules and risk typologies
- Monitor changes in Singapore’s regulatory landscape
- Translate regulatory obligations into compliance initiatives
- Support regulatory audits and internal reviews
- Lead audit responses and oversee remediation of compliance findings
- Conduct compliance training and awareness programs
- Deliver compliance reporting and dashboards to senior management
