About the Role
You will provide strategic legal advice to commercial stakeholders and negotiate complex, multi-jurisdictional agreements for payment, data, and financial-services products. You will advise on contract interpretation and early customer disputes, address legal and operational risks, automate contracting processes, and train commercial colleagues.
Requirements
- 5+ years of legal experience in-house or at a law firm
- Commercial contracting or transactional experience
- Ability to collaborate with legal counsel across US, LATAM, EMEA, and APAC jurisdictions
- Experience training others on complex legal concepts
- Ability to prioritize work and complete processes in a high-volume environment
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Availability to work from the San Francisco office
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal advice across commercial functions
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex multi-jurisdictional commercial agreements
- Identify legal and operational risks and recommend risk-based decisions
- Advise on contract interpretation and early-stage customer disputes
- Drive legal automation to improve contracting efficiency
- Train commercial colleagues on agreements
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Travel to other offices periodically
