About the Role
You will lead enterprise operations and establish the operating model, governance, workflows, metrics, and decision-making cadence needed to run at scale. You will manage the Book of Work, lead the Executive Committee’s operating cadence, and set organisation-wide KPI and performance-management frameworks. You will oversee enterprise services across People, ICT, Finance, Legal, AI, and Venture Studio operations. You will partner with executive leaders on engineering and delivery capability, workforce planning, budgeting, risk, information security, data governance, privacy, and AI-enabled workflows. You will also represent the organisation in board, regulatory, and partner discussions.
Requirements
- Extensive progressive leadership experience, including significant C-suite or equivalent executive experience.
- Proven experience leading operations at scale in an engineering-led company.
- Experience leading operations, people, finance, and technology-adjacent functions in a complex global organisation.
- Experience leading large-scale organisational transformation and transitions to distributed operating models.
- Senior operational or general management experience at a world-class software or technology company.
- Experience operating as a peer or operational partner to a CEO or founder.
- Strong background in OKR design, governance frameworks, and cross-functional programme delivery.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with AI, agentic systems, and AI-enabled operations.
- Strong systems thinking and cybernetics knowledge.
- Strong operational leadership, risk sensing, cost sensing, communication, and technical literacy.
- Familiarity with Web3, blockchain, or deep tech is advantageous; intellectual curiosity about the space is required.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent professional experience.
Responsibilities
- Own the operational model, structures, systems, and rhythms across business units and geographies.
- Build frameworks that enable functional autonomy and enterprise-wide alignment.
- Manage the Book of Work and lead the Executive Committee operating cadence.
- Design and deploy the business operating system, including workflows, metrics, and governance.
- Lead the transition from informal processes to AI-enabled operational infrastructure.
- Set organisation-wide KPI and performance-management frameworks.
- Support the engineering and delivery rebuild with operational governance and enterprise services.
- Drive SLA-based enterprise services across People, ICT, Finance, and Legal.
- Own contracts management, procurement, vendor strategy, facilities, workplace, and remote-first operations.
- Set the strategy for AI use across operations and build AI-first workflows.
- Oversee workforce architecture, including AI agents and human direction.
- Partner on talent, organisational design, compensation, performance management, and learning and development.
- Hold budget authority across functions in the COO remit and partner on budgeting and reporting.
- Own enterprise operational risk, business continuity, and incident response.
- Oversee Venture Studio operations and venture incubation infrastructure.
- Represent the organisation in board reporting, regulatory conversations, and partner negotiations.
