About the Role
You will lead the end-to-end technical lifecycle for controllable solid propulsion programs. You will guide multidisciplinary engineers through design reviews and qualification milestones, manage technical scope, cost, schedules, stakeholder communications, and process improvements. You will also manage approximately 10 engineers through coaching, performance reviews, staffing, hiring, and development.
Requirements
- Ten years of systems engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
- Engineering leadership and organizational skills
- Analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent planning tools
- Experience with data-driven decision-making, technical trade analysis, and configuration control
- Experience leading and developing an engineering team
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end technical lifecycle of solid propulsion programs
- Lead cross-functional teams through design reviews and qualification milestones
- Manage critical paths, resources, schedules, technical scope, and cost performance
- Serve as the primary technical spokesperson for internal and external stakeholders
- Drive engineering process improvements, knowledge management, and best practices
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop an engineering team of approximately 10 engineers
- Conduct performance appraisals and identify training needs
- Allocate staffing and participate in recruiting and hiring
