About the Role

You will own and oversee compliance across regulated entities at board level. You will establish and maintain compliance frameworks across applicable EU and international regulatory regimes; oversee AML/KYC policies, client asset safeguarding, and internal controls; engage regulators; review new products and operational changes; design escalation, incident response, and reporting processes; prepare reports for the board and senior management; and build and manage the compliance team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a top university
  • Significant experience in financial regulation, compliance, or regulatory affairs at a regulator, regulated institution, law firm, or consultancy
  • Deep familiarity with EU financial services frameworks covering securities and digital assets regulation
  • Solid understanding of risk management frameworks and internal control systems
  • A network and credibility that commands respect in regulatory conversations
  • Ability to challenge effectively at all levels
  • Ability to operate at board level with high independence and accountability
  • Ability to provide strategic guidance while remaining hands-on when needed

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the compliance framework across applicable EU and international regulatory regimes
  • Oversee AML/KYC policies, client asset safeguarding, and internal control systems
  • Engage directly with Latvijas Banka and other relevant authorities on compliance-related matters
  • Review and challenge new products, business lines, and operational changes from a compliance perspective
  • Design escalation procedures, incident response protocols, and compliance reporting structures
  • Prepare compliance reporting for the board and senior management
  • Build and manage a compliance team as the company scales
