About the Role
You will integrate autonomy software with unmanned aircraft, onboard compute, sensors, and control interfaces. You will configure and validate flight-ready systems, support live flight tests, diagnose embedded hardware and software issues, capture and analyze mission data, and improve integration processes and compliance documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a similar discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- At least 7 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 5 years with a master's degree, or 4 years with a PhD
- C++ and Python proficiency
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems
- Linux-based development, embedded systems, shell scripting, and system diagnostics experience
- Knowledge of sensor integration, sensor fusion, ROS, and DDS
- Experience supporting flight demonstrations or live exercises
- Experience with simulation tools for testing and validation
- Problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Integrate autonomy software onto unmanned aircraft systems
- Build, configure, and validate flight-ready systems
- Support live flight operations, safety checks, system bring-up, and troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software integration issues
- Manage mission data collection and post-test analysis
- Collaborate with autonomy, GNC, systems, and test functions
- Build tools and processes that improve integration and flight-test reliability
- Support certification, airworthiness, and compliance documentation
