About the Role
You will translate scientific experiments and laboratory workflows into integration specifications and data models. You will help design automated workcells, build services that connect instruments and robots to laboratory information systems, and develop instrument drivers using command sequences and vendor APIs or SDKs. You will also integrate autonomous laboratory systems with AI models for experiment analysis and planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, controls, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in laboratory automation, integration, or industrial automation software
- Hands-on experience with robotic laboratory automation systems
- Strong scripting or programming experience, preferably Python
- Familiarity with APIs, databases, and enterprise software integration
- Hands-on experience with information management and execution systems such as LIMS or MES
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with bench scientists to translate experiments and laboratory workflows into integration specifications and data models
- Work with integrators to design and build automated workcells for materials R&D
- Build and maintain services connecting instruments and robots to laboratory information systems
- Develop instrument drivers that automate laboratory workflows through command sequences and vendor APIs or SDKs
- Integrate autonomous laboratory systems with AI models for experiment analysis and planning
