About the Role
You will support the Partner and Head of Real Estate in the Property & Real Estate department. You will provide exceptional service to clients, display excellent time management and organizational skills, and attend to the legal needs of the Firm and team quickly and efficiently. You will communicate with clients and attorneys, draft and negotiate real estate contracts, leases and mortgages, manage transactions from start to completion, conduct legal research, and work on other matters within the firm's practice areas as needed.
Requirements
- Law Degree
- Legal Education Certificate
- At least five (5) years of post-qualification experience
- Possess CARICOM Skilled National Status
- Strong and varied experience in property and real estate law
- Ability to work as part of a team locally, regionally, and globally while embracing innovation and technology
- Capacity to appreciate international standards and the expectations of the Firm's global client base
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Able to handle various matters working in fast paced environment with tight deadlines
- Keen eye for detail
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with both clients and Attorneys in a timely and efficient manner
- Draft, review, negotiate and settle contracts and other documents related to real estate sales and acquisitions
- Draft, review, negotiate and settle leases and mortgages for real estate developments, hotel and commercial projects
- Competently and efficiently manage real estate transactions from start to completion
- Conduct legal research
- Work on other matters within the firm's practice areas should the need arise
