About the Role
You will lead and scale privacy and data-governance programs. You will advise on privacy laws, AI, clinical data, data sharing, and product development; monitor regulatory changes; create privacy policies and training; and provide practical guidance to technical and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- 10+ years of in-house, health technology, or technology-focused law firm experience
- Experience developing and evaluating product compliance programs
- Knowledge of HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, biometric privacy laws, and U.S. state privacy and data-security frameworks
- Ability to balance legal, regulatory, business, and customer considerations
- Ability to translate legal requirements into actionable guidance
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
- Ability to work from the SF or NYC office three days per week
Responsibilities
- Build and scale the privacy program
- Counsel Security, Product, and Engineering teams on privacy matters
- Advise on privacy laws related to AI, machine learning, clinical data, and sensitive information
- Develop and maintain global privacy programs
- Support data-sharing, governance, and contractual questions
- Monitor and respond to privacy and AI regulatory changes
- Draft and operationalize privacy policies, playbooks, templates, standards, and training materials
- Evaluate the impact of privacy and data-protection laws on product developments
