About the Role
You will conduct original research on emerging technologies, global competition, geopolitics, and technological capabilities. You will turn findings into reports, briefings, and action plans; help prepare engagements and events; support directorate priorities; and mentor research assistants while maintaining rigorous research standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, international relations, security studies, political science, or a related discipline
- 2 to 5 years of research and analysis experience
- Expertise in defense-related research methodologies, geopolitical assessments, strategy development, and project management
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Research project management ability
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to mentor research assistants
Responsibilities
- Conduct original technology-related research, data collection, comparative assessments, geopolitical analysis, and technological capability evaluations
- Monitor emerging trends and identify opportunities for further research and analysis
- Produce reports, briefing documents, talking points, newsletters, opinion pieces, and action plans
- Prepare materials for engagements, meetings, and events
- Support directorate goals, priorities, and critical tasks
- Mentor research assistants and ensure deliverables meet requirements and deadlines
- Maintain rigorous research, citation, writing, and conflict-of-interest standards
