About the Role
You will lead research on frontier AI issues and shape research priorities and strategy. You will develop research projects, coordinate data-focused analyses, produce and edit publications, and communicate policy-relevant findings to non-experts. You will supervise and mentor researchers, brief policy audiences, monitor relevant developments, and present project and people updates to leadership.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in a relevant field
- Research, writing, briefing, and management ability with limited supervision

- At least 3 years of research and policy-analysis experience for Research Fellow applicants
- At least 5 years of public service in senior roles or 10 years of progressive private-sector experience for Senior Fellow applicants
- Mentoring and coaching experience for Senior Fellow applicants
Responsibilities
- Develop, propose, and lead frontier AI research projects
- Design data-focused research plans and identify data, resourcing, and risk-management needs
- Produce written publications individually and as a co-author
- Supervise, mentor, and coach researchers
- Edit research products for methodological rigor, tone, and consistency
- Collaborate on data and documentation libraries
- Deliver presentations and briefs for policy-making audiences
- Prepare and present project and people updates to leadership
- Monitor AI and national security policy developments
- Contribute to organizational working groups, seminars, and discussions
- Support and mentor colleagues
