About the Role
Support corporate and business-unit close processes, expense reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, cost allocations, segment reporting, SEC disclosures, expense analysis, variance explanations, capitalized-cost reviews, restructurings, acquisitions, and audit requests.
Requirements
- 3+ years of accounting or controllership experience
- Exposure to segment reporting or cost allocation
- Familiarity with books and records of a bank or financial institution
- Experience building and maintaining Excel datasets and models
- Experience translating cost and expense data into business-unit narratives
- CPA preferred
- College degree with demonstrated mathematical or analytical ability is a bonus
- Public accounting firm experience is a bonus
- NetSuite or Workday experience is a bonus
Responsibilities
- Support month-end and quarter-end close for corporate and business-unit entities
- Reconcile operating expenses, accruals, and intercompany allocations
- Assist with intercompany eliminations and consolidation procedures
- Partner with FP&A on expense analysis and ad hoc requests
- Investigate expense variances and validate cost allocations
- Own segment reporting deliverables and SEC segment disclosure support
- Review capitalized costs and distinguish capitalizable spend from operating expenses
- Analyze legal-entity results and explain allocation methodologies
- Support acquisitions and internal restructures
- Manage audit requests related to expense reporting and segment results
- Use AI and automation tools to improve productivity and output quality
