About the Role
Provide end-to-end legal counsel on retail cryptocurrency products and services, respond to legal requests, coordinate with stakeholders and outside counsel, assess regulatory risks, advise on Canadian developments, engage with regulators, and support product launches.
Requirements
- J.D. degree from a law school accredited by the Federation of Law Societies of Canada
- Membership in at least one Canadian province or territory bar in good standing
- 7+ years of relevant legal experience
- Experience with crypto, securities, derivatives, money transmission, and/or sanctions regulations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to drive cross-functional alignment and action
Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end legal counsel on retail cryptocurrency products and services
- Respond to legal requests and coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside counsel
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Advise on Canadian cryptocurrency legal and regulatory developments
- Engage with Canadian securities regulators and self-regulatory organizations
- Build relationships supporting coordinated product launches
- Support other legal work as needed
