About the Role
You will perform chemical and physical testing of raw materials, oxidizers, and composite materials against MILSPEC standards. You will generate certificates of analysis, analyze data, develop laboratory procedures, maintain sample traceability, support equipment selection and maintenance, and follow laboratory safety protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field with 3–4 years of analytical laboratory experience, or a Master’s degree with 1–2 years of experience
- Experience with ICP-OES, load frames, bomb calorimeters, gravimetric analysis, and related instrumentation
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with chemical-testing safety reviews and oxidizers or hazardous materials
- Experience maintaining SOPs, test worksheets, and batch records
- Experience with LIMS
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain State and Federal explosives licenses
- At least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and State and Federal background checks
Responsibilities
- Execute chemical and physical tests under MILSPEC standards
- Generate Certificates of Analysis for final acceptance testing
- Develop and implement chemical production processes, sampling methods, and test procedures
- Perform mechanical, thermal stability, raw-material, and particle-size analyses
- Assist with laboratory equipment selection
- Manage sample chain of custody and traceability
- Record and analyze experimental data
- Prepare technical reports, certificates of analysis, and presentations
- Develop and maintain laboratory SOPs, test worksheets, and batch records
- Support updates to MILSPEC procedures
- Assist with laboratory equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
