About the Role

You will design and develop primary and secondary aircraft structural components from concept through production release. You will create CAD models, drawings, interface definitions, and analysis reports; perform hand calculations and basic FEA; support structural testing; resolve build issues; and collaborate on system integration and design reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in aircraft structural design or related aerospace structures
  • Experience designing and releasing structural components
  • Knowledge of composite and metallic structures, fasteners, bonded joints, and load paths
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks
  • Understanding of GD&T, tolerance stackups, and DFMA principles
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-ownership engineering environment

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop structural components and assemblies for UAV platforms
  • Execute conceptual development, CAD modeling, detailed design, and drawing release
  • Perform stress and strain hand calculations and basic FEA
  • Collaborate on airframe system integration
  • Support coupon, subcomponent, and system-level structural validation
  • Generate design documentation, drawings, interface definitions, and analysis reports
  • Resolve build issues and support hardware through test and deployment
  • Participate in design reviews and technical discussions
  • Improve knowledge of structural layout, joints, fasteners, tolerancing, and optimization
