About the Role
You manage sponsor-backed and corporate healthcare credit portfolios, underwrite complex transactions, monitor risk and performance, prepare credit approvals and reporting, review legal documentation, coordinate closings, ensure policy compliance, and mentor junior professionals while improving risk management processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Seven or more years of experience in commercial banking, leveraged finance, sponsor finance, corporate banking, private credit, credit risk management, or related financial services
- Significant experience underwriting and managing corporate credit exposure to middle-market and sponsor-backed companies
- Healthcare industry experience is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting, leveraged lending, and credit risk fundamentals
- Advanced financial modeling and cash flow analysis capabilities
- Experience reviewing and negotiating legal credit documentation and transaction structures
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Completion of a formal credit training program is highly desirable
- MBA or CFA is a plus
Responsibilities
- Manage sponsor-backed and corporate healthcare credit portfolios
- Perform periodic credit reviews, risk assessments, and performance monitoring
- Analyze operating performance, liquidity, leverage, cash flow generation, and debt repayment capacity
- Determine internal and regulatory risk ratings and recommend ratings to management
- Monitor healthcare industry trends, reimbursement dynamics, regulatory changes, and competitive positioning
- Prepare portfolio reporting, management presentations, and analyses
- Underwrite LBOs, M&A transactions, recapitalizations, refinancings, add-on acquisitions, and growth financings
- Build and review financial models with base case, downside case, and sensitivity analyses
- Prepare credit approval memoranda
- Recommend covenant protections, deal structures, and risk mitigants
- Review legal documentation and coordinate transaction closings
- Maintain portfolio documentation, databases, and internal risk management systems
- Mentor Associates and Analysts and review their credit analyses and financial models
