About the Role
You will drive Class 8 commercial and passenger vehicles, supervise autonomous vehicles on public roads and test tracks, and take control when needed. You will conduct inspections, maintain ELD and inspection records, follow platform SOPs, operate customer loads, communicate delays, and provide detailed vehicle-performance feedback. You will work a flexible day shift from the Lancaster terminal.
Requirements
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- Valid DOT medical certification
- 3 years of recent commercial combination-vehicle driving experience
- Exemplary motor vehicle record, background check, and DOT drug and alcohol screening results
- Electronic logging device experience
- Ability to manage Hours of Service compliance
- Availability for a flexible day shift, extended shifts, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel
- Verbal and written vehicle-feedback skills
- Basic computer skills
Responsibilities
- Drive Class 8 commercial and passenger vehicles safely and compliantly
- Supervise autonomous Class 8 vehicles and assume manual control when needed
- Apply takeover guidance and safety techniques
- Disengage for safety, stranding, or reputational risks and document situational details
- Complete pre-trip inspections and post-trip inspection reports in Fleetio
- Maintain Motive ELD records and Hours of Service compliance
- Visually assess surroundings and use hand signals and spotters for backing
- Follow truck-platform SOPs, startup procedures, and charging processes
- Operate customer loads to committed schedules and communicate delays
- Provide vehicle-performance feedback and support annotations
- Support fleet, facilities, readiness, and SOP documentation work
- Maintain safety standards and report unsafe conditions
