About the Role

You will derive mechanical requirements and maintain traceability to test evidence. You will own mechanical DVP&R activities, conduct functional, performance, vibration, shock, thermal, and environmental testing, and maintain test fixtures. You will investigate failures, coordinate certification testing, maintain compliance documentation, and improve mechanical verification methods, lab capabilities, and toolchains.

Requirements

• 5+ years in mechanical V&V, preferably in automotive or heavy vehicles
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering
• Automotive DV/PV process knowledge
• PPAP knowledge
• APQP knowledge
• Experience with automotive OEMs and Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers
• Knowledge of automotive environmental and safety standards
• AEC standards knowledge
• Ability to adapt V&V processes for OEMs
• Experience defining vehicle environmental requirements

Responsibilities

• Derive mechanical requirements and maintain traceability to test evidence
• Own mechanical DVP&R planning and execution
• Conduct functional, performance, vibration, shock, thermal, and environmental testing
• Build and maintain custom test fixtures
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and drive corrective actions
• Integrate mechanical verification and design-for-test into programs
• Document and present test results and recommendations
• Manage compliance testing and certification
• Coordinate testing with external accredited laboratories
• Maintain test reports, compliance logs, and certification documentation
• Develop mechanical verification methodology, lab capability, and toolchains
• Assess OEM DV/PV processes and advise leadership
