About the Role
Bitfinex seeks a Transaction Monitoring Analyst to analyze alerts, investigate unusual activity, assess AML, CTF, sanctions, and fraud risks, support reporting, and improve transaction monitoring controls in a global fintech environment.
Requirements
- Experience in compliance within the industry.
- Understanding of AML, KYC, CTF, enhanced due diligence, and sanctions requirements.
- Basic knowledge of blockchain technology and virtual currencies.
- Experience with blockchain analytics or transaction monitoring tools such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, or TRM.
- University degree.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Critical thinking, decision-making, attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency.
- Ability to understand documentation in various languages, types, and forms.
- Self-motivated with proficient IT and organizational skills.
- Preferred timezones are APAC or LATAM.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement risk-based transaction monitoring algorithms and controls.
- Analyze and investigate fiat and cryptocurrency transaction monitoring alerts.
- Assess unusual activity and escalate urgent or high-risk cases.
- Prepare reports identifying money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions anomalies.
- Adjust risk parameters according to the platform's risk appetite.
- Coordinate with AML, compliance, product, fraud, and investigations teams.
- Evaluate referrals, communicate findings, and support process improvements.
- Follow KYC, AML, CTF, sanctions policies, laws, and regulations.
