About the Role
You will create, revise, and control manufacturing, safety, regulatory, quality, and training documentation. You will work with technical stakeholders to validate document accuracy, manage revisions, support quality records, and communicate documentation status and compliance deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field; or an associate's degree with at least 4 years of directly relevant technical writing experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- At least 3 years of technical writing experience in manufacturing, defense, chemical, or a similarly regulated industrial environment.
- Experience writing SOPs, work instructions, or regulatory documentation in a compliance-driven setting.
- Written English communication skills.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Document management or controlled-document software experience.
- Document control and revision history management knowledge.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation consistent with ATF and DoD requirements.
Responsibilities
- Author, revise, and maintain SOPs, work instructions, batch records, traveler documents, and process control documents.
- Develop and update hazard analysis documents and explosive safety site plans.
- Produce and revise material safety data sheets, technical data packages, and product specifications.
- Document quality procedures, nonconformance reports, CAPA records, and internal audit findings.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, production, and inspection personnel to standardize validated-process documentation.
- Create and format first article inspection reports and quality records.
- Develop and revise training materials, visual aids, and competency assessments.
- Maintain training records with HR and Safety.
- Gather technical information, verify document accuracy, and manage review cycles.
- Communicate document status, revision schedules, and compliance deadlines.
