About the Role
You will embed within changing research domains to identify high-leverage operational needs and build programs, processes, and tooling. You will lead ambiguous initiatives across compute, evaluations, RL environments, and emerging research areas. You will coordinate compute planning, launch evaluation readiness, operational health for RL environments, and technical decisions across research, engineering, and product. You may need to respond to incidents at short notice, including on weekends.
Requirements
- ML research or engineering background
- Experience building technical programs from scratch
- Hands-on exposure to model training, evaluation, or large-scale distributed systems
- Ability to learn unfamiliar technical domains quickly
- Experience operating complex technical systems
- Knowledge of monitoring, incident response, and performance optimization
- Ability to reason about model architecture, training infrastructure, evaluations, or compute efficiency
- Stakeholder management skills
Responsibilities
- Embed in research domains to identify high-leverage problems
- Lead complex research initiatives across multiple teams
- Establish processes and frameworks for research environments
- Lead compute resource planning, allocation, efficiency, and prioritization
- Drive evaluation readiness for model launches
- Own execution and operational health of RL environments
- Present technical trade-offs and recommendations to research leadership
- Connect research, engineering, and product teams to accelerate execution
