About the Role
You will resolve complex support requests and provide remote support for automated systems, software, networking, and controls. You will lead incident response, coordinate technical resources, monitor performance, conduct root-cause analysis, improve knowledge content, support system maintenance, and travel to client locations when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent hands-on industrial automation, robotics, or controls experience
- At least 2 years of experience in technical support, controls, or engineering supporting complex systems
- Remote system support experience using Remote Desktop or SSH
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, protocols, and troubleshooting
- Proficiency with Linux shell environments and scripting
- Working knowledge of SQL scripting and application support
- Familiarity with ISC DHCP, BIND, and server configuration
- Experience with motion control systems, Allen Bradley ControlLogix, Ladder Logic, C, and scripting
- Experience with server management, Active Directory, and Windows and Linux patching
- Valid driver's license
Responsibilities
- Resolve technical support requests through ticketing systems, phone, email, and chat
- Provide remote support for electro-mechanical, software, networking, and controls issues
- Troubleshoot automation, robotics, PLCs, motors, VFDs, motion control systems, software, networking, and scripting
- Lead major incidents and coordinate cross-functional resources
- Prioritize issues by customer impact, system criticality, and SLAs
- Provide incident updates to stakeholders
- Monitor system metrics, logs, and trends for potential failures
- Conduct root-cause analysis for critical and recurring incidents
- Lead post-incident follow-up actions
- Create and improve knowledge-base content
- Support maintenance activities, including backups, trend analysis, and I/O checks
- Interpret electrical schematics, OEM manuals, and system documentation
