About the Role
You will own technical direction and architecture, prototype and implement ideas, write review debug and reason about production code, make design decisions, document approaches, mentor engineers, maintain engineering standards, balance delivery trade-offs, identify opportunities, and guide products toward scalable reliable production systems.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience
- 1–2 years in a senior or technical leadership capacity including managing or mentoring engineers
- Proven experience shipping and maintaining live products used by real users
- Experience building and shipping products with AI capabilities in production
- Strong hands-on coding ability
- Practical working knowledge of Gemini or other AI models
- Strong understanding of modern AI model capabilities limitations and applications
- Strong system design and architecture fundamentals
- Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions and balance speed quality and scope
- Ability to communicate technical decisions to engineering and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience writing technical design documentation
- Strong ownership and proactive problem-solving approach
- Product-oriented mindset
- Experience in the video games industry is advantageous
- Experience founding a startup or building a software product with real users is advantageous
