About the Role

You will evaluate and secure state and local data center tax incentives, manage incentive applications and exemptions, and coordinate external advisors. You will model tax savings, maintain compliance controls, administer exemption certificates, and monitor legislative changes affecting tax strategy.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive US state and local tax experience
• Experience with location incentives, indirect tax exemptions, or corporate state tax planning
• Experience with data center incentives, sales and use tax exemptions, and property tax abatement
• Experience managing external service providers
• Advanced financial modeling skills
• CPA or JD preferred

Responsibilities

• Act as the tax liaison for business initiatives and communicate tax implications
• Evaluate state and local data center tax incentives, exemptions, and credits
• Execute incentive applications, tax filings, and exemption registrations
• Manage external tax advisors, legal counsel, and economic development consultants
• Model tax savings, capital expenditure thresholds, and ROI for site selection
• Manage compliance for secured incentives and track commitments
• Maintain internal controls and reconciliations for tax processes
• Administer sales and use tax exemption certificates and direct-pay permits
• Monitor tax legislation and incentive developments
