About the Role
Operate and improve GCP and GKE platforms, manage Linux and Kubernetes infrastructure with automation and infrastructure as code, strengthen monitoring and alerting, resolve complex incidents, and help define regional platform standards and architectures.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years operating complex production environments.
- Deep cloud experience and GKE experience.
- Terraform expertise.
- Linux fundamentals, including performance tuning, debugging, networking, virtualization, and bare-metal experience.
- Python and Bash scripting skills.
- Kafka or similar streaming technologies.
- Puppet or Ansible, plus Foreman or Satellite.
- Prometheus or Grafana and modern alerting strategies.
- Git and CI/CD practices.
- Technical leadership and collaboration skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to drive self-directed improvements.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the US-based GCP platform subject matter expert.
- Improve Terraform-driven infrastructure and cloud architecture.
- Research pain points and deliver engineering improvements.
- Manage Linux and Kubernetes environments with automation and infrastructure as code.
- Improve monitoring and alerting frameworks.
- Resolve complex Linux, Kubernetes, and cloud incidents.
- Participate in on-call support.
- Define and implement platform standards and architectures.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools for analysis and automation.
