About the Role
You will improve supplier processes, quality, delivery, and capability. You will audit suppliers, resolve performance issues, provide technical manufacturing guidance, monitor metrics, manage supply-chain risks, and support supplier readiness for new product introductions.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment and/or manufacturing engineering role
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or CATIA and ability to analyze and explain 2D drawings, depending on commodity expertise
- Proficiency in electrical CAD tools and interpretation of schematics and PCB drawings, depending on commodity expertise
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
- Problem-solving skills including root-cause investigation and failure analysis
- Ability to travel to domestic and international suppliers approximately 50% or more of the time
Responsibilities
- Audit supplier processes to identify cost, lead-time, and quality improvements
- Conduct on-site audits and investigate supplier quality and performance issues
- Assess and improve supplier capabilities
- Provide technical guidance on part specifications, manufacturing processes, standards, and quality measures
- Track supplier delivery, quality, and cost metrics and implement corrective actions
- Identify and mitigate supply-chain risks
- Support supplier readiness for new product introductions
