About the Role
You will supervise commercial drivers moving high-value materials and equipment. You will manage schedules, routes, loading, transport compliance, fleet readiness, documentation, incident response, and operational improvements while coordinating with receiving, inventory, and site teams.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- 3+ years of commercial driving experience, including short-haul driving
- 2+ years of formal supervisory or people-leadership experience over drivers, transportation, or warehouse/logistics teams
- Clean driving record and compliance with DOT and company safety policies
- Ability to work onsite in Memphis and travel between warehouses, vendor sites, and data center locations
- Ability to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift 40–50 pounds and perform physical tasks for extended periods
Responsibilities
- Hire, supervise, coach, and manage driver performance
- Build driver schedules, route assignments, and workload plans
- Direct loading, unloading, and material-handling activities
- Ensure compliance with CDL, Hours of Service, ELD, DOT, and safety requirements
- Oversee barcode scanning and WMS or ERP inventory transactions
- Resolve delays, exceptions, and site issues
- Review delivery documentation and audit paperwork
- Monitor fleet condition, inspections, service records, cleanliness, and fueling
- Lead safety reviews, incident investigations, and corrective actions
- Coordinate inbound and outbound flow with receiving, material-handling, and inventory teams
- Implement process improvements for efficiency, safety, cost, and on-time delivery
- Provide backup driving or loading coverage when needed
