About the Role
You will lead structural design and analysis for data centers from concept through construction. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary partners, manage projects, review deliverables, perform seismic and vibration analysis, mentor engineers, and ensure code compliance and structural integrity.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in civil or structural engineering from an accredited university.
- Professional Engineer license.
- 10+ years of professional structural engineering experience for building projects.
- Expertise in structural design and analysis for mission-critical or hyperscale data centers.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software and CAD/BIM tools.
- Knowledge of building codes, seismic design, vibration control, and MEP interfaces.
- Ability to travel occasionally for site visits and project support.
- Ability to work extended hours when needed.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Lead structural design and analysis for data center and compute facilities.
- Develop and review structural models, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate structural systems with MEP, cooling, raised-floor, rooftop, and modular components.
- Perform seismic analysis, vibration-isolation design, load-path evaluations, and equipment-load assessments.
- Manage schedules, budgets, deliverables, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, site visits, and inspections.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers.
- Identify risks, optimize costs, and maintain safety and code compliance.
- Stay current on data-center construction and design innovations.
- Provide leadership updates through KPIs, reports, and presentations.
- Review drawings, calculations, and analyses for structural integrity and code compliance.
