About the Role
You will serve as the primary finance partner to the CTO and R&D leadership, shaping investment across AI, cloud and compute infrastructure, engineering capacity, and product development. You will build economic frameworks, connect usage and operating data to forecasts, evaluate R&D investments, own planning and performance management, improve infrastructure economics, communicate executive and board insights, and redesign R&D finance through AI, automation, and scalable systems.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience across strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, investing, consulting, business operations, or a related analytical role
- Experience independently owning consequential work from end to end
- Exceptional financial and analytical skills
- Ability to create driver-based forecasts, investment cases, and scalable decision frameworks from incomplete or complex data
- Strong communication skills and judgment when partnering with senior technical leaders
- Ability to learn technical systems quickly and understand how AI products and modern infrastructure are built and scaled
- Applied AI fluency demonstrated through the use of AI in analysis, modeling, research, or recurring workflows
- Experience supporting Engineering, Product, Data Science, AI, or Infrastructure organizations, analyzing cloud or compute costs, or evaluating vendor commitments and build-versus-buy decisions
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary finance partner to the CTO and R&D leadership
- Own the economic framework for AI, cloud, and compute
- Lead the financial evaluation of major R&D investments
- Own R&D planning, forecasting, and performance management
- Partner with technical and finance functions to improve infrastructure economics and evaluate major commitments
- Translate complex R&D performance into executive and board narratives
- Redesign R&D finance around AI, automation, and scalable systems
