About the Role
You will lead system-level UAS flight-test campaigns and conduct missions under approved test and safety procedures. You will operate and maintain aircraft, payloads, ground systems, and test equipment; validate pre-release software; document defects; assess operational risks; and improve test standards.
Requirements
- 8+ years operating, configuring, and maintaining Group 1/2 UAS platforms
- Experience leading complex UAS flight operations
- Knowledge of UAS hardware, autopilot systems, payloads, ground control stations, communications systems, and test equipment
- Experience with operational readiness and configuration control
- Experience developing and executing SOPs, checklists, risk assessments, and hazard mitigations
- Knowledge of National Airspace System operations, airspace coordination, and flight authorization requirements
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
Responsibilities
- Lead system-level flight-test campaigns for Hivemind Mission Autonomy
- Plan and conduct missions according to approved test plans and safety procedures
- Operate, configure, inspect, and maintain UAS, payloads, ground control systems, and test infrastructure
- Test pre-release HivemindSDK versions and verify autonomy capabilities
- Develop and execute customer workflows and mission scenarios
- Document test results, defects, anomalies, regressions, and limitations
- Lead risk assessments, crew briefings, ground checks, and post-flight debriefs
- Monitor telemetry, collect flight data, and investigate anomalies
- Maintain SOPs, test procedures, checklists, and operational standards
- Mentor flight-test personnel and improve safety and efficiency
