About the Role
You will establish field-safety and incident-response processes, conduct operational-readiness testing, and create validation evidence. You will define protocols for normal and off-normal conditions, monitor safety performance, investigate field events, support preparedness training, and contribute to regulatory and industry safety discussions.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in robotics, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related technical field
- At least 7 years of experience in safety-critical system development, validation, or operations
- Systems engineering principles, including requirements decomposition, verification and validation processes, and hazard analysis
- HAZOP, FMEA, FTA, and STPA
- ISO 26262, ISO 21448/SOTIF, and UL 4600
- Safety metrics and complex autonomous or robotic system test plans
- Technical communication
- Project management
Responsibilities
- Lead field-safety processes and incident response
- Define and conduct operational-readiness testing
- Create readiness-framework evidence
- Define protocols for nominal and off-nominal situations
- Establish field-safety monitoring and safety indicators
- Analyze operational trends and field events to improve safety
- Support incident-response training and operational preparedness
- Interface with regulatory bodies and contribute to autonomous-vehicle safety standards discussions
