About the Role
You will own a Ray Core technical area from roadmap through production, lead complex multi-engineer projects, and make architecture decisions for distributed workloads. You will design distributed-systems primitives, remain hands-on with implementation and debugging, and guide the long-term Ray Core architecture.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience leading substantial projects end to end
- Experience leading multi-engineer, multi-quarter projects
- Deep distributed-systems and computer-systems experience
- Systems programming experience with C++, Rust, Java, or similar languages
- Understanding of concurrency, distributed coordination, resource management, fault tolerance, performance, or networking
- Experience building foundational systems such as databases, streaming systems, distributed runtimes, operating systems, schedulers, storage systems, Spark, or Kafka
- Experience mentoring engineers
Responsibilities
- Own a Ray Core technical area from roadmap through production
- Lead large, technically complex projects
- Set technical direction and make architectural decisions
- Design, build, and evolve distributed-systems primitives
- Solve distributed execution, scheduling, resource-management, fault-tolerance, concurrency, networking, storage, and performance problems
- Implement and debug systems-oriented code
- Shape the long-term Ray Core architecture
