About the Role
You will set technical direction for storage architecture and lead cross-functional initiatives. You will design, develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain high-performance file, block, and object storage systems. You will orchestrate storage resources, integrate accelerated hardware, troubleshoot production failures, define storage SLOs and SLIs, and optimize systems for AI workloads.
Requirements
- 10+ years of storage systems engineering experience
- 5+ years in a technical lead or Staff+ IC role
- Experience designing and operating multi-petabyte storage infrastructure
- Background in HPC, AI/ML infrastructure, or large-scale cloud storage
- Proficiency in C, C++, Rust, or Go
- Experience with at least two object, block, or file storage protocols
- Experience profiling storage throughput, latency, and IOPS
- Working knowledge of NVMe, NVMe-oF, RDMA, and DPUs
- Experience with data-center storage hardware, reliability, runbooks, and incident response
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, log aggregation, and tracing
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for storage software architecture
- Author and review design documents
- Mentor senior engineers
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance storage systems
- Build distributed systems for storage-resource orchestration
- Integrate NVMe, GPU-direct, and DPU-accelerated hardware
- Troubleshoot production performance, protocol, and hardware issues
- Own requirements, design, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
- Define and track storage SLOs and SLIs
- Evaluate emerging storage protocols and hardware
- Optimize storage for AI workload performance
