About the Role
Serve as the technical leader for Plaid's Europe engineering team, setting direction across its product surface while staying hands-on. Translate product strategy into engineering roadmaps, lead high-leverage projects, uphold architectural and code quality standards, partner with engineering and product leaders, and connect with platform teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Technical leadership experience on a product engineering team
- Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or similar backend languages
- Experience operating and scaling high-availability production systems
- Experience with delegation
- Product engineering experience
- Payments domain experience
- Experience working across time zones
- Fintech or financial infrastructure experience
- Familiarity with open banking APIs and bank connectivity patterns
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction across Europe's product surface area
- Translate product strategy into engineering roadmaps
- Own high-leverage technical projects
- Prototype to reduce project risk
- Set standards through design reviews and architectural decisions
- Maintain code quality
