About the Role

You will own RF and microwave module designs from requirements through production release. You will design active and passive circuits and PCB assemblies, perform simulation and laboratory verification, diagnose hardware issues, develop qualification and production-test strategies, and integrate hardware within environmental and size, weight, power, and cooling constraints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Hands-on RF or microwave circuit, module, or PCB assembly ownership through fabrication, debugging, and verification
  • Knowledge of S-parameters, impedance matching, transmission lines, stability, gain, noise figure, linearity, compression, isolation, and cascaded RF performance
  • RF PCB layout experience
  • RF laboratory instrumentation and calibration knowledge
  • Ability to use simulation and measured data for design decisions and requirement closure
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on-site in a laboratory and hardware-development environment
  • Experience with RF front ends for high-reliability systems
  • Experience with GaN or GaAs power amplifiers, MMICs, LNAs, switches, limiters, frequency converters, or filter technologies
  • Experience with transmit-and-receive operation, high-power RF, intermodulation control, adjacent-band rejection, or desense
  • Experience with Altium Designer and RF or electromagnetic simulation tools such as ADS, AWR, HFSS, or CST
  • Knowledge of thermal design, RF packaging, interfaces, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability and test
  • EMI and EMC design and qualification experience
  • Experience developing automated characterization or data-analysis tools in Python or MATLAB
  • Experience transitioning RF hardware into low-rate production

Responsibilities

  • Own RF and microwave module designs from requirements through production release
  • Design active and passive RF circuits
  • Develop RF front-end assemblies that meet performance requirements
  • Perform circuit and electromagnetic analysis and correlate models with measured performance
  • Create and review RF and mixed-signal PCB designs
  • Plan and execute laboratory characterization
  • Diagnose RF hardware issues
  • Integrate RF hardware with mechanical, thermal, avionics, communications, antenna, manufacturing, and test systems
  • Develop verification methods, production-test strategies, calibration approaches, and technical documentation
  • Support qualification, supplier engagements, hardware integration, ground testing, and flight testing
  • Contribute to design reviews and mentor engineers
