About the Role
You will conceptualize, design, and develop structural systems for mobile robots. You will conduct FEA and tolerance analysis, collaborate with electrical, software, controls, manufacturing, and quality engineers, solve design problems, build and test prototypes, create dimensional drawings, and manage BOMs and ECOs in PLM.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
- At least 8 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience with mechanical design principles and electromechanical systems
- Experience with CAD software and FEA tools
- Ability to select and integrate motors, sensors, and actuators
- Experience with machining, casting, sheet metal, and plastics manufacturing processes
- Experience with SolidWorks, Ansys, industrial robotics, automation, material handling, PLM, and DFMA preferred
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, and develop structural systems for mobile robots
- Perform FEA and tolerance analysis
- Collaborate with electrical, software, controls, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams
- Identify and troubleshoot design challenges
- Participate in prototyping, building, testing, and iterating on designs
- Create dimensional drawings using ANSI Y14.5 and GD&T
- Create and manage BOMs and ECOs in PLM
- Travel up to 20%
