About the Role
You will lead mechanical battery-system design for aircraft, launch and recovery vehicles, and ground equipment. You will design enclosures, packaging, harness and connector integration, thermal protection, and retention systems; verify reliability; investigate failures; and guide design reviews and execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Battery design experience for large aircraft or an equivalent power system
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience delivering battery power systems to market
- Proficiency with mechanical engineering development tools, simulation, and test equipment
Responsibilities
- Define and execute battery-system enclosure, thermal management, and environmental protection
- Design and integrate internal component packaging, retention, harnesses, and connectors
- Perform tolerance, assembly, and serviceability analysis
- Verify system performance and reliability through shock, vibration, ingress, and thermal testing
- Investigate root causes of mechanical, environmental, and manufacturing problems
- Provide mentorship, design review, and program execution leadership
