About the Role
You will own the real-time decisioning platform for fraud detection and prevention. You will build feature infrastructure, maintain consistency between training and serving, operate low-latency scoring services, design fallback paths, create feedback loops, and manage models from training through retirement with safe reversible deployments.
Requirements
- Experience building and operating high-availability services within strict latency budgets
- Experience designing robust fallback mechanisms
- Holistic systems thinking including failure analysis and graceful degradation
- Ability to build feedback loops for systems that learn from their decisions
- Ability to write tested typed and reliable code for duplicate late or out-of-order events
- Experience owning feature or data pipelines end to end
- Experience troubleshooting divergence between offline and production metrics
- Experience turning unscoped problems into shipped work
- Ability to raise the engineering level of others
- Experience with decision explainability systems is a plus
- Experience developing anomaly-detection systems is a plus
- Familiarity with GCP BigQuery Bigtable Memorystore Vertex AI and Kubernetes is a plus

- Develop feature infrastructure for batch near-real-time and in-request paths
- Maintain alignment between model training and serving
- Build feedback loops that capture decisions and outcomes
- Scale the platform as transaction volume and model complexity grow
- Own real-time transaction-scoring services within strict latency budgets
- Design degraded paths and fallback policies
- Improve replay shadow and staged-rollout tooling
- Manage models across training deployment monitoring and retirement
- Detect model decay before it results in financial losses
