About the Role

You will own avionics thermal management from concept through production. You will define thermal requirements and architecture, build and validate heat-transfer and fluid-flow models, lead testing and qualification, guide design decisions, manage suppliers, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
  • At least 8 years of avionics or electronics thermal-engineering experience
  • Expert knowledge of heat transfer and fluid mechanics
  • Experience integrating active and passive cooling solutions
  • Knowledge of TIMs, spreaders, heat sinks, cold plates, vapor chambers, heat pipes, and fans
  • Advanced proficiency with thermal analysis and CFD tools such as ANSYS Icepak, FloEFD, or STAR-CCM+
  • Experience with CAD tools such as NX or SolidWorks
  • Experience with PLM-controlled design release
  • Experience planning and executing thermal qualification and verification testing
  • Technical leadership and engineering mentorship experience
  • Written and verbal technical communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Own avionics thermal management from concept through production
  • Define thermal architecture, requirements, environments, and interfaces
  • Develop, review, and approve heat-transfer and fluid-flow models
  • Lead trade studies, architecture decisions, and thermal risk assessments
  • Define qualification and verification strategies
  • Lead test planning, instrumentation, data analysis, and model correlation
  • Influence electrical and PCBA thermal design decisions
  • Author thermal specifications and statements of work
  • Evaluate and direct thermal hardware suppliers
  • Lead thermal design reviews and produce technical reports
  • Mentor engineers and guide cross-disciplinary teams
  • Identify thermal risks and drive mitigations to closure
